FAUSTO HOMERO LEMOS

CONDUCTOR
At just 24, Argentine conductor and pianist Fausto Homero Lemos is emerging as one of the most promising talents in Latin America’s new generation of conductors.
He won First Prize at Argentina’s 5th National Competition for Young Conductors in 2026. His training spans Argentina, Finland, and the United States. Alongside his studies in Orchestral Conducting at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, he studied piano with Bruno Gelber and conducting with Mario Benzecry, former Assistant Conductor of the New York Philharmonic. In 2025, he was selected to study with Jorma Panula in Helsinki.
He is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting at Penn State University with Gerardo Edelstein, where he serves as Co-Conductor of the Campus Orchestra and Assistant Conductor of the Philharmonic and Chamber Orchestras, regularly leading rehearsals and conducting concerts at the prestigious Eisenhower Auditorium.
From a young age, he developed his professional career as Assistant Conductor of Argentina’s National Youth Symphony Orchestra, a position he held for three years, regularly conducting the orchestra in leading Buenos Aires concert halls.
His commitment to sharing music and expanding access to education led him to establish the Argentine Network of Young Conductors, a nonprofit that supports young conductors across Argentina through educational opportunities. In partnership with Fundación Beethoven, he founded a free public masterclass series, bringing hundreds of students and music enthusiasts together to learn from leading Argentine and international conductors.
That same commitment to reaching wider audiences shapes his presence on social media, in classical music publications, and on radio, where he shares his passion for classical music with the public beyond the concert hall.
A glowing review by Martha Cora Eliseht, member of the Argentine Music Critics Association.
